Hello, I got the iPhone 13 Pro Max back in mid-July, for the majority of the time since then, I have regularly noticed issues where I have to press 2 or 3 times on the screen to open an app or select something. I have force restarted my iPhone, made sure touch accommodations is off, updated the iPhone, and reset the iPhone. None of these have helped. Outside of replacing the iPhone, I am not sure what to do or what is wrong. Suggestions?

Thank you.

Hi harrison343,

We appreciate you reaching out to us. We understand that you have to tap an app 2-3 times for it to launch.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

Does it seem like the issue is isolated to launching the app?

Are you experiencing the issue with every app?

Once the app is launch, are you experiencing any touch-screen related issues? For example, does it seem like a portion of the screen is unresponsive?

These details can help further isolate the issue.

See if the steps in this Apple resource could help with your situation: If the screen isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

In the meantime, if you are using any accessory that is paired or connected to your iPhone 13 Pro Max, we recommend that you disconnect or unpair your accessory, then check if that helped.

Please keep us posted.

Take care!

Hello harrison343,

Is it possible this is an issue with the display? Please remove any cases and coverings, unplug the device from chargers, and check the troubleshooting here: If the screen isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Or is it possible the device is just slow? Do other things hang, like within apps? Moving between screens? etc.? About iOS or iPadOS performance on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Thanks.

Hello, thank you for responding.

The issue is not isolated to launching an app, and it happens with multiple apps.

It also happens when I try to wake the iPhone, where the initial touch does not work and I need to tap the screen again.

It does not seem like certain portions of the screen are unresponsive, just all over the screen. When I have an app open, I do still have the issue occur but not as much.

Question, what do you mean by an accessory, like a speaker or headphones?

Thank you.
