Love these! I used cayenne instead of red pepper flakes and added 1/2 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of ground ginger to the honey butter mix. Excellent. Will make again.

I just made a second batch of this because it was so popular over the holidays. Next time I might not put in as much sesame and sunflower seeds since they seem to not spread around on the baking tray as easily. I would put in about 2/3 cup pumpkin seed and divide up the sesame and sunflower seeds for the remaining 1/3 cup.

I would consider cooking these at a lower temperature or for less time at the temperature provided. Mine burned after 18 minutes at 325. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue though.

Be careful during roasting as nuts will go from 'not ready yet' to 'oops, it's burned' really fast! Check frequently from the 18 minute mark.

Sweet and salty. So good. I did use a very small quantity of nigella seeds but they seem too strong a taste. The honey works perfectly- probably would’ve liked a bit more of that and salt too. Cashews, almonds, pecans, walnuts, sesame seeds, quinoa, nigella

I only added half of the red pepper flakes and they were plenty hot. They were too salty. Next time I would add half the salt also.

Do I have to roast the nuts before i make this? It's says roasted nuts but can you even buy undalted, roasted pecans or walnuts?

I have some hot honey I planned on using for this recipe. Has anyone tried that yet? If yes, did you adjust or omit the red pepper flakes?

Delicious! I used the convection setting on my oven, stirred frequently, and had no issue with the nuts burning in the 20 minutes suggested in the recipe. I added a teaspoon or two of very finely chopped rosemary to the finishing salt and sugar at the end. YUM.

Delicious and a big hit with all my guests. For seeds I used a mix of pepitas, sunflower, poppy, and rounded out the cup with dried minced onion. Can’t believe I forgot sesame; will definitely add next time. I did not have any problems with overcooking or burning at 325 for 25 minutes in three increments (10, 10, 5).

Excellent! Gotten raves for these. Added craisins, for seeds used 2/3 C sunflower and 1/3 cup quinoa. Nuts mixture of almonds, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, pistachios. Makes a big batch.

I think less cooking time is needed - my first batch burned. Also, next time I would make a bit more of the honey butter mixture.

After reading about others whose nuts burned, I watched mine carefully and removed them right at 18 minutes. Sure enough, they burned and most were inedible. A large quantity of nuts went to waste. I wonder if the recipient needs some tweaking.

Delicious! I was concerned that the level of heat might be too much for some in my gathering of retired friends, but everyone asked for the recipe. It's a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I omitted the seeds because I didn't have any, but the mixture had great variety and crunch without them.

I wanted a fall-spice theme so I added 1 tsp garam masala to the honey-butter, as well as more red pepper flakes than called for (1 tsp Aleppo, 1/2 tsp regular red pepper flakes). I put black mustard seeds and unsweetened coconut chips in with the nuts.

I found unsalted mixed nuts at Costco and Amazon. However, take salted nuts, put in a strainer or colander and shake off as much salt as possible. Then leave out the salt at the end. Salt can always be added

Used maple syrup and cayenne. Loved the tri quinoa ( p. Seeds, sunflower also)

Hmm… maybe we used a bad mix of nuts because we didn’t love it. I doubled the sauce and we still thought it was a bit bland. We only had chia seeds on hand and it took a lot of tooth brushing to remove them from our teeth.
